'PORGY & BESS'
October 2020, in Vienna.
Sani will make his role debut as Mingo in a new production of Porgy & Bess directed by Mathew Wild and conducted by Wayne Marshall for 'Theatre an der Wien' / Vienna. Sani won an Olivier award as ensemble member for the ENO production of the Gershwin opera in 2018. (see video) Also joining Sani in Vienna from the ENO production are stars Eric Greene as Porgy, Tischina Vaughan as Maria and up and coming tenor Zwakele Tshabalala (d)as Sportin Life.

Sani has been commissioned by Fun Palaces to respond the Covid crisis and to
Black Lives Matter.
Fun Palaces has never before commissioned artists, not least because they believe everyone is an artist. They want to do still more to encourage greater inclusion in Fun Palaces both as events and across all of our work, they are choosing to commission a group of artists this year.
