A MATTER OF PRIDE

Sani marked his return to the Auckland stage at the 2015 Pride Gala last week in Aotearoa. It has been quite a while since Sani has offered his talents to the New Zealand public ' I havent performed in Tamaki Makaurau (Auckland) for many years, it was lovely to be able to contribute to the Pride Festival' Singing 'My mans gone now' from Porgy and Bess he brought the house down:

Sani made his Sydney Opera House debut as 'Sportin Life' in Porgy and Bess in 1995, in the first ever staging of the Gershwin Opera in Australia. Alongside him was  bass baritone brother Eddie who sang Jake.

It was another family affaire 20 years later for in the sold out, black tie gala audience were his siblings and their partners. 'The Polynesian prescence at this event was huge - both on stage and off - and rightly so Auckland is the biggest Polynesian city in the universe!' says the London based Tenor.

Sani will shortly return to London to remount his play  Kava Girls  which has been selected for the Origins Festival in June 2015. He is booked to  further develop his writing at the Royal Court  and will again direct and produce for his company the GAFA Arts Collective.  'Singing will always be my first love' Once a singer always a singer.
