ABOUT ME
Sani Muliaumaseali'i is a London based Layered Art Exponent. He has appeared in Opera and most forms of music theatre in many parts of the world. He studied singing at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music, Australia, where he gained his BMus and Post Graduate Diploma. In 2011, Sani founded the Gafa Arts Collective (GAC) Londons first Samoan arts collective, he is the creative director & producer.
Credits: 2012 & 2013 revival for the Origins Festival London, Gafa A family called Samoa, Sani was Director & Producer. 2011 Berliner Festspiele, Le Savali, Featured ensemble, Lemi Ponifasio director, Taniwha Thames, Oval Theatre Stella Duffy director, 2010 creating the role of Uncle Edward, World première of children’s opera ‘Skitterbang Island’ Polka Theatre, Wimbledon.

Le Remandado ‘Carmen’, Riverside Opera; Richmond Theatre, Man Friday ‘Robinson Crusoe’,
Opera Della Luna at the Iford Festival.
Sporting’ Life, ‘Porgy and Bess’, at the Sydney Opera House. Harlekin, Der Kaiser von Atlantis for the Canberra Arts festival, and Daniel, [created] Wide Sargasso Sea’, Chamber Made Opera, Melbourne. Sani has worked in opera in development with Almeida Theatre/ Genesis Opera and Nitro Theatre at the ROH Covent Garden. His London recital debut was at St John’s Smith Square, 2005,
Sani played the King of Siam opposite Stefanie Powers, and Marti Webb in the UK tour of ‘The King and I’ (2002). On screen he won best actor at the Dream Speakers Festival Canada for the short film ‘Talk of the Town’ & in 2005 Sani played Hal Collins, in the feature ‘Warlock’ for ‘Capriol Films. Sani sang the national anthem of Samoa at Twickenham before a global audience when the Manu Samoa played England in Rugby (2005).

Sani directed the show Muse Chanteuse for Edinburgh Fringe festival. 2018 Sani appeared in Porgy and Bess and Britten’s War Requiem, for the English National Opera and will tour with them the Netherlands, to the Dutch National Opera in 2019. Porgy and Bess won an Olivier award, for outstanding ensemble in opera. Sani makes his European opera house and role debut as Mingo, Porgy and Bess, at the Theatre an der Wien, Vienna October 2020.
